SUMMARY:IMV 's Canvassing for the peoples agenda
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Oasis in Medford and help us get out the vote around the peoples agenda .  We are asking our friends and neighbors to Vote yes on all three questions.Working people have the opportunity to fight for ballot initiatives that will raise the standard of living in their community and at their workplaces. At the same time\, we’re facing ballot questions that threaten our livelihoods\, communities\, and safety.  Sign up on our partners Facebook event  so we can have materials ready here \nYES on Question 1 – Safe Patient Limits: \nCurrently\, greedy hospital CEOs maximize their profits by assigning too many patients to nurses. This results in unsafe working & care conditions for Massachusetts nurses and patients. \nA YES VOTE on Question 1 will dramatically improve patient safety in Massachusetts hospitals by setting a safe maximum limit on the number of patients assigned to a nurse at the same time. \nYES on Question 2 – Dismantling Corporate Personhood:  \nIn 2010\, the U.S. Supreme Court decided in the Citizens United case that corporations should have the same rights as people\, including spending their money to influence federal elections. \nA YES VOTE on Question 2 would create a citizens commission that would propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution to overturn Citizens United and reaffirm that corporations are NOT people. It’d also state firmly that it is the policy of Massachusetts to support a 28th Amendment to overturn Citizens United. \nYES on Question 3: Continuing defense of trans people’s rights \nSince 2016\, it has been illegal in Massachusetts to discriminate against people based on gender identity in public places. A YES vote would uphold  the law & defend the rights of trans people to access public accommodations\, including service establishments like restaurants and stores\, health care facilities\, and transportation. \nWe’re mobilizing our entire coalition for a progressive slate that includes all of these ballot questions and ties them together to fight back against corporate greed with solidarity.
